We know the problem: It’s time to act.

We can help address the youth mental health crisis by focusing on the wellbeing of our children.

With nearly 40% of teens reporting regular mental health struggles, the American Academy of Pediatrics has declared a national state of emergency in child and adolescent mental health.

The disruption and adversity of the pandemic aggravated what was already a growing problem.

Yet most young people don’t have access to the resources and supports they need, especially in communities living with structural challenges like poverty or racism.

Tending to wellbeing helps a young person thrive by reducing anxiety and depression and improving performance in school.

Wellbeing includes physical and mental health, safety, emotional development, education, learning, relationships, and social behavior.

We are building a coherent set of investments designed to both immediately impact the lives of our children and create systems that can effect change for the long term.

Zephyr Impact created the Youth Wellbeing Project to support nonprofits with proven success and bold ideas so they can serve as a model for others.

We partner with organizations working in traditionally underserved communities to ensure all students have access to wellbeing and other mental health resources.

We give our partners the funding they need to grow.

And we surround them with an advisory council of experts who provide strategic guidance and mentoring.

We also invest in the research, communications, advocacy, and policy resources needed to address our youth mental health crisis.

Our first investment: Mindful Life Project

A California nonprofit providing in-person mindfulness coaching in schools where students deal with trauma or the structural challenges of racism or poverty.

Our unrestricted funding will help Mindful Life Project strengthen operations and expand to new communities.
